After publishing the official sketches of Kia’s new compact SUV exterior called Seltos, the first official images of the interior have recently appeared. So, the carmaker continues unveiling details about a new player in the highly competitive compact SUV segment.
The sketches of the exterior and some spy photos available give us an idea how the all-new Kia Seltos looks like outside. It is designed on the basis of the Kia SP Signature Concept.
Sharp horizontal lines make the appearance more dynamic and squat. The front end is newly designed, there is a larger grille flowing into the LED three-layer headlights.
The first official images of the interior demonstrate a new approach to design. At the first glance we can identify a Kia car. There is a typical steering wheel, a trapezoidal block of the multimedia system.
Strong transverse lines dominate the decoration of the instrument panel. We can also notice a new climate control unit and an 10.25-inch multimedia screen.
The new multimedia complex, apart from the excellent image quality, can synchronize via Bluetooth with two mobile devices simultaneously, as well as supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The multimedia system can combine functional and entertaining information (for example, displays the navigating info and music player or weather forecasts at the same time).
It is also part of the UVO CONNECT complex, which has the Internet access and can provide the driver with a real-time information about traffic, weather, fuel prices, parking lots and costs, sights and more.
Owners will also be able to use a special mobile app that can remotely download the route for a future trip to the navigation, check the location of the vehicle, receive technical status reports, etc.
An additional passenger handle adds versatility and visually connects the central tunnel and the console.
What else is known about the model?
We can note that similar design features have already been used onboard the flagship Kia Telluride SUV, while Kia designers seek to implement premium solutions in the middle class car, providing high-quality finishing materials and high attention to details.
Kia announces the model will have a rich optional equipment appealing to younger customers, and even more: they are sure the SUV will be a unique offer in its class.
The Kia Seltos enters the Korean market in late 2019. Since it is a global model, it’ll then go on sale worldwide, including the USA and Europe.
