The Jaguar I-Pace has been awarded “European Car Of the Year 2019” (ECOTY). The jury of 60 automotive journalists selected it from six finalists.
The award ceremony of the European Car Of the Year 2019 contest took place in Europe. The first electric car of Jaguar became a winner. The I-Pace overtook such strong rivals as the Alpine A110, Citroën C5 Aircross, Ford Focus, Kia Ceed, Mercedes-Benz A-Class and the Peugeot 508.
The jury consisted of 60 journalists from 23 countries. They assessed design, performance, innovations, efficiency and cost of contenders.
Interestingly, the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace was the only fully electric car among the finalists and the first ever Jaguar that got this prestigious European reward.
Since its launch in 2018 the model won in total 55 international awards including the Car of the Year in Germany, Norway, UK, the Electric Car of the Year from BBC and Top Gear, The Electric Car of the Year in China, as well as Autobest and ECOBEST awards.
Some facts about the model:

- sales in Europe account for 75% of worldwide sales of the brand;
- can be charged by using a RFID key at public and home stations on 85 000 charging points across Europe.
