At the 2021 SEMA Show, Stellantis presents an interesting exclusive version of the Dodge Durango.
This off-road vehicle features a distinctive exterior and interior design. It is powered by a potent V8 HEMI engine and is part of the celebration of Mopar’s 85th anniversary.
The new Mopar ’22 Dodge Durango will be built in a limited run of 250 units – 200 for the USA and 50 for Canada. Sales start early next year. The Mopar package will cost about $4,000.
The order book will open in the first quarter of 2022, with the first units arriving at dealerships next summer.
The Mopar ’22 special edition is based on the Durango R/T with AWD and optional Plus Group and Tow N Go packages.
The body is available in two colors: DB Black and White Knuckle. An asymmetrical blue Mopar stripe runs from front to back through the driver’s area. The grille has a blue Mopar badge.
There is also a kit to low ground clearance. The standard equipment includes 20-inch Lights Out wheels wrapped in Pirelli tires, with blue Brembo brake calipers.
Inside, the front seats are upholstered in leather and suede, with an embroidered two-tone Mopar logo on the backrests. Special Mopar pedals and floor mats emphasize exclusiveness. The upholstery seams are painted blue for a strong contrast. The cherry on the cake is a plate with an individual vehicle number.
A 5.7-liter 365-hp V8 HEMI gasoline engine powers the Mopar ’22 Dodge Durango. The unit is mated to a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, plus there is a four-wheel-drive system.
Other highlights are the SRT active shock suspension and an electronically limited-slip differential.
The SUV is able to reach a top speed of 145 mph (233 km/h). The Track, Sport, Snow and Tow modes adapt driving to certain road conditions. A retuned SRT exhaust system is worth mentioning too.
It remains to add that Mopar is a special division for the production of parts and maintenance of Stellantis models.
