So, what will Toyota please us with in the coming years? Which models will be updated, receive new versions or change generations?
Toyota and Subaru agreed to launch the second-generation Toyota 86 in July 2021 as a 2022 model, possibly a “GR 86” with around 255 hp of output.
For 2021, the Toyota Camry is due to be updated in the fall of 2020. It will change generation for the 2024 model year.
As for the Avalon, Toyota programs it for the 2022 MY.
In September 2021, the 2022 Corolla Cross goes to production at the plant in Alabama, which Toyota is building together with Mazda.
The Toyota Venza returns as a new midsize crossover in the 4th quarter of 2020.
The RAV4 will undergo a mid-cycle refresh for the 2022 model year.
The Sequoia and 4Runner will get a next generation in 2022 as the 2023 vehicles.
Toyota will sell the Land Cruiser for the USA as a 5-seater only, with no emphasis on luxury. It will be cheaper, based on the next-gen Tundra. The latter debuts in December 2021.
The new-gen Toyota Tacoma is scheduled for the 2024 MY.
The Hilux and Fortuner will change generation in 2023. In the near future, the carmaker will update them. Arrival of a unified Hilux and Tacoma model is possible too.
