The new vehicle bears a strong resemblance to the original Land Rover Defender. For the U.S. market, the INEOS Grenadier comes with a 382-hp engine.

For those who prefer the former classic, a British chemical company INEOS developed a model for genuine wilderness deriving inspiration from the original Land Rover Defender. INEOS Grenadier off-roader is equipped with BMW engines and ZF gearboxes. Magna Steyr helped INEOS in development and testing.

The INEOS Grenadier’s off-road ability comes from solid axles, lockable differentials. The beltline around the top of the removable doors is capable to carry a load. Integrated roof bars allow carrying loads without a rack. The flat-topped fenders can carry a person’s weight. Wiring for extra lights and external accessories are also in the kit for the vehicle.

Now the manufacturer is seeking places to sell its INEOS Grenadier, and plans to partner with some dealer groups for this purpose. For the U.S. market, the Grenadier comes with a gasoline 3.0-liter, 382-hp, twin-turbo, inline six-cylinder engine, while other markets will receive a diesel-powered variant as well. The company hopes to offer a 5-year/60,000-mile warranty.

INEOS will build its model in Austria. Production for Europe should start in the summer of 2021. U.S-spec vehicles will roll off the assembly line in early summer 2023 to reach customers by the end of that year.

75,000 pre-orders opened for those who registered their early interest in the SUV. In 2 weeks, preorders will open to all other persons. The pricing has not been announced yet, and we have no idea which it could be. The 2022 Land Rover Defender price range is from $47,700 to $112,200.
