The Hyundai Kona gets urban and sporty styling updates for the 2021 model year.
The Korean carmaker has released a few teaser photos of a standard Kona and a ‘warm’ N Line version. The latter receives more aerodynamic exterior design. The images represent the SUV’s front part with a shark-inspired nose.
The new model has a sleeker and more refined look, in particular, thanks to upgraded daytime running lamps. A front skid plate adds to its armored appearance.
The Kona N Line’s aerodynamic elements include low-set air intakes, an aggressive front bumper. Corner fins and lean crease lines add to the bumper’s look.
Distinctive details of the design is an N-Line badge on the grille of the warm version, and an “H” (Hyundai) badge flanked by the headlights on the standard Kona.
A hot Hyundai Kona N is underway too. We expect it with anticipation, but it is still unclear if it will be unveiled alongside the other versions or at a later date.
It will likely have a 2.0-liter 275-hp gasoline turbo engine with 8-speed dual-clutch automatics, while the lesser N-Line apparently comes with a 1.6-liter GDI turbocharged engine that makes 201-hp and 195 lb-ft torque – the same as the recent Hyundai Elantra N-Line got.
