The European large SUV ranking turned upside down with the launch of the new-generation Hyundai Santa Fe.
The South Korean flagship regained first place in the European large SUV segment, which it last time took in 2016. Sales in the first quarter of 2019 amounted to 2,578 units, CarSalesBase.com reports.
True, the leadership of the Santa Fe is not unconditional. The Kia Sorento comes very close with a result of 2,501 sales.
Next in popularity are the Ford Edge, Toyota Land Land Cruiser, SsangYong Rexton, Mitsubishi Pajero.
Analysts state a steady decline in European interest in large SUVs and crossovers. In the Q1 2019, 9.860 units were sold, down 27% from a year earlier.
