Hyundai has released new teaser images of the upcoming hot Kona N.
This Hyundai Kona will join another N-badged model of the brand – a new i20 N hatchback, recently unveiled. The latest official images provide a better look at the Kona N’s design.
Predictably, the vehicle receives a more aggressive front bumper, a new grille, more pronounced side skirts; a new diffuser, a bigger spoiler with a triangular brake light, twin exhaust tips; a sportier suspension, and new alloy wheels with larger discs and Pirelli tyres.
The ground clearance is lower compared to the conventional Kona. Performance tweaks include launch control and a limited-slip differential.
The interior equipment and powertrain will be likely the same as Hyundai i30N’s, namely a 2.0-liter turbo-four, an 8-speed DCT, sports steering wheel and seats, an aluminum pedal box. The Kona N should offer from 247 hp (184 kW) of total output as standard.
The company will introduce the new ‘hot’ Hyundai Kona N in spring 2021, with sales to begin in summer.
In September 2020, Hyundai unveiled the ‘warm’ 2021 Kona N-Line. It should go on sale soon.
Currently the 2021 Hyundai Kona ($20,400) and 2021 Hyundai Kona Electric ($37,390) eligable to a $7,500 federal tax credit are available to buy in the United States.
In the UK, Hyundai offers the Kona (£21,060), Kona Electric (£30,150), Kona Hybrid (£23,160).
