The 2019 Hyundai Kona and Kona Electric crossovers have become winners in the 2019 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year category for the first time.
The North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year automotive media jury announce winners every year at the NAIAS in Detroit since 1994.
The jury consists of the best automotive experts – top journalists of the authoritative car media from the USA and Canada. This year it is represented by 54 members: legacy newspapers and magazines, freelancers, broadcast veterans, digital columnists.
Both the Kona and Kona Electric are built on all-new CUV platforms. They are positioned like versatile vehicles to be used in urban and multi-surface driving conditions, a good choice for young active drivers.
The Kona features enhanced dynamics and responsive performance, cutting-edge connectivity and class-leading safety fuctions.
The Hyundai Kona Electric has a driving range of 258 miles (415km) and standard fast-charging capability. Crossover-like ground clearance and elevated seating position provide better visibility and comfort in long trips, as well as easy ingress and egress.
