The largest model of the Hyundai brand was officially introduced at the beginning of this year, but only now the Korean automaker has announced prices and configurations for the US car market.
The 2020 Hyundai Palisade shares the platform with the Kia Telluride. It will cost in the USA from $32,595 including delivery fees.
Three trim levels are offered for the American market: SE (base), SEL (mid-range), Limited (top), the last two are priced at $34,545 and $45,745, respectively.
The engine mounted on the Palisade is a 3.8-liter 291-hp V6 paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Both front- and all-wheel drive options are available.
The Palisade’s pricing is not unexpected: this is approximately the average level for the segment.
For example, the Honda Pilot cost from $32,495, the same-platform Kia Telluride LX – $32,735, the Nissan Pathfinder – from $31,530.
Will the Palisade and the Telluride compete with each other? No, we believe. With all the similarities, both SUVs are designed for different categories of customers.
The Kia Telluride is more suitable for customers who prefer an active lifestyle and travelling. No wonder the model has special versions for outdoor activities.
The Hyundai Palisade is more academic and respectable, so to say.
Sales of the model start this summer in the USA. It remains to wait a few months and see if the company succeeds with its largest SUV.
