Volkswagen has unveiled a performance R version of its new T-Roc crossover. It will make its public debut next week at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show.
The stylish sporty VW T-Roc R has got the Golf R’s 2.0-liter gasoline engine which develops 300 hp. It also shares with the latter a 4Motion all-wheel drive system, a seven-speed DSG transmission and brakes.
Thanks to such powertrain, the vehicle is able to accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.9 seconds (the Golf R hatchback needs just 4.7 sec for it). The top speed is limited to 133 mph (250 km/h).
Of course, being a sports modification, the 2019 Volkswagen T-Roc R has the respective styling, namely an aggressive body kit with large air intakes, a spoiler on the tailgate and twin-barreled tailpipes of the exhaust system.
The standard equipment includes 18-inch wheels. 19-inch ones are optional (for an extra pay). The world premiere takes place in Geneva in March 2019. Sales will start before the end of this year.
The standard T-Roc cost from €20,390 in Germany. The R-version will be pricier, of course.
