Hot Version Of The Skoda Kodiaq Will Have A 240-hp Diesel Engine

Skoda has published the first official teaser of the hot Kodiaq vRS crossover. The debut of the model will be held at the Paris Motor Show in October 2018, but some details are already known. In particular, the performance Kodiaq got a 2.0-liter twin turbo diesel engine.

The Skoda Kodiaq vRS has repeatedly got into the cameras. The race on the Nurburgring Nordschleife track in Germany has been one of the most notable events, where the crossover set a new lap record for the seven-seater SUV.

The vehicle was hidden under disguise, and the emphasis was not on the exterior, but on the dynamic characteristics. Sabine Schmitz, a charismatic German racing driver and host of the Top Gear show rode the car.

The result of 9 minutes 29.84 seconds was achieved thanks to the 240-hp diesel motor. The Information about the engine is quite official, as well as the first teaser images of the Kodiaq vRS.

During running at the Nurburgring, a black-gloss radiator grille, tinted headlights, black roof rails and exterior mirrors were clearly visible. Front and rear bumpers have a sharper and sportier profile.

The largest and fastest Skoda’s SUV has got the 2.0-liter BiTDi diesel engine available only for the Kodiaq vRS version. Capacity of 240 hp is transmitted to all four wheels via an automatic DSG gearbox.

There is still no information about a suspension, but it is certainly sportingly modified. However, as Skoda claims, the Kodiaq vRS will remain as universal as the base car.

Czechs do not talk about the hot SUV’s price, but experts expect it will be 52,000-55,000 dollars. It is much cheaper than the performance rivals from the premium segment.

The Skoda Kodiaq vRS will be available for sale early next year.
