The hot Cupra brand (SEAT’s derivative) celebrates its first anniversary presenting a crossover-like concept with ground clearance of a sports car. What is more important, it is a plug-in hybrid vehicle.
This-year Geneva International Motor Show (March 7-17, 2019) will be a place of its public debut. Named the Cupra Formentor, this concept looks more realistic than those futuristic concepts of some other brands we’ve recently seen. So, a production version should follow. It is expected to enter the market in 2020.
The Formentor’s exterior features a LED light strip at the rear stretched the entire width (similar to Seat Tarraco’s), as well as quad exhausts.
Inside we can see sporty bucket seats, a digital instrument panel, a 10-inch ‘floating’ touchscreen for easy access to info and controls.
Under the hood expect a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain with combined output of 244hp (241bhp),a dual-clutch automatic transmission and a battery pack providing 31-mile (50-km) electric-only range (WLTP ).
