The 2022 Acura MDX Type S goes on sale starting from December 2021. The base price will be in the high-$60,000 range.
The high-performance Acura MDX Type S will be available at U.S. dealers next month. The MDX receives this top-of-the-range version for the first time, and it is the best Acura SUV now in terms of handling, equipment, output. The 2022 Acura MDX Type S has been developed and will be built in America.
The MDX Type S features the brand’s 3.0-liter Turbo V6 that delivers 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque, and pairs a sport-tuned 10-speed automatic transmission. A torque-vectoring super-handling all-wheel-drive system (SH-AWD) comes as standard.
Saying about the model’s highlights, we can’t help mentioning Brembo front brakes, 21-inch wheels in performance tires, a standard air suspension, massaging front seats, a new 25-speaker ELS STUDIO 3D Signature Edition audio system. Its Adaptive Damper System is mated to the air suspension for the first time.
Other highlights are full-LED exterior lighting, a 12.3-inch HD display, a Precision Cockpit digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, modern level of connectivity. In general, Acura has significantly enhanced all driving elements of the vehicle, and this makes the MDX Type S a flagship model.
Acura has not announced the price of the 2022 Acura MDX Type S yet. We just know it will well exceed $60K. For comparison, the base Acura MDX’s retail net price is $47,200 before taxes, fees, charges, options.
