Hennessey Performance Engineering tuning center from Houston made the top-of-the-range Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk even more potent.
The upgraded version – HPE1000 Hennessey Trackhawk – develops incredible 1012 horsepower and 969 lb-ft (1,314 Nm) of torque from 4,200 revs. These figures can only be compared with the Ram 3500 heavy-duty pickup truck’s performance that allows it to tow 37,100 pounds (16,828 kg).
The vehicle can blitz the drag strip in 10.2 seconds at 133 mph (214 km/h when equipped with drag radials out back. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph takes 2.6 seconds.
Hennessey upgraded the supercharger and recalibrated the engine control unit. Other enhancements include high-flow induction and high-flow catalytic converters, crankcase ventilation, not to mention cosmetic changes outside and in the cabin.
There is a two-year/24,000-mile warranty, whichever comes first. All these improvements from Hennessey will cost $34,950 added to the price of the vehicle itself.
