Heatherwick Studio presented an Airo Concept with a HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filter at the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The event took place on July 8-11, 2021. The mentioned concept is an electric vehicle able to filter pollution. So, its emissions are not just zero but negative.
The British developer of the vehicle claims it has a “state-of-the-art HEPA filtering system” that cleans the air moving through the vehicle’s undercarriage. The Airo Concept can “collect a tennis ball worth of particulate matter per year.” It also has self-driving features.
The Airo’s interior is unique. Heatherwick Studio says it is a “moving room or a space for your life.” The front seats can swivel around to face the car’s center.
There is a four-leaf fold-away table inside to dine or play a tabletop game. The seats can fold down into a double bed, a screen for the projection of video images can be unfolded, and the vehicle turns into a “perfect gaming pod”. The cabin’s glass roof can turn opaque.
Mass production of the Airo model is planned for 2023. The IM Motors company will build it.
