General Motors has revealed the date of the GMC Hummer EV SUV premiere.
The SUV-version of the GMC Hummer electric pickup truck will be unveiled both in a format of online presentation on the automaker’s official website and during the broadcast of the NCAA Final Four basketball game.
It’ll happen at 5 p.m. Eastern Time on April 3, 2021. Short after, GMC will begin accepting reservations.
Expect the upcoming model will logically share most of its features, including the four-wheel-steering system and Crab Mode, underpinnings, motors and the battery pack with the truck.
Moreover, the sports untility vehicle could offer the same base EV2 and two-motor EV2X modifications, plus a 1000-hp tri-motor EV3X variant, as well as removable roof panels.
The main differences between the pickup and its SUV counterpart will be at the rear and in the cabin. The SUV will come with a spare tire on the tailgate and possibly three rows of seats.
As for its market launch, the Hummer EV SUV will start reaching customers in late 2022 or early 2023.
