Global Sales Of Mercedes Compact Cars Increased To 60,000

Increased customer interest in compact models of Mercedes-Benz is recorded for the second month in a row. In April 2019, the fourth-generation A-Class hatchback became the locomotive of sales.

After a successful March, sales of Mercedes-Benz compact cars continued to grow in April. Around the world, more than 49,000 A-Class vehicles were sold, 6% more than a year earlier.

However, the new A-Class (pictured) hatchback is a real sales hit. The demand for it grew by 45%. However, the rest of the compact lineup – the B-Class van, CLA, CLA Shooting Brake and the GLA SUV also succeeded.

This is just the beginning. The US market has not fully responded to the new A-Class Sedan. And, of course, the long-awaited season hit, a compact Mercedes-Benz GLB, has already received so many advances that it is enough for the model range.

Sales of the best-selling C-Class remain stable. 138,000 Comfortklasse sedans and wagons were sold in April.

A new G-Class started well on the market. Over the past four months, demand for the Gelandewagen has grown in double digits.

Daimler AG can also boast the growth of sales of the Smart cars. IMore than 11,500 units were sold worldwide last month. The Smarts are especially popular in Europe, where their April sales grew by a quarter.
