Genesis GV60 Official World Premiere Takes Place on September 29

The automaker has released a teaser video to announce the full reveal of its first all-electric crossover – the Genesis GV60.

The world premiere of the 2022 Genesis GV60 will take place on September 29 at 5 p.m. (Los Angeles), at 8 p.m. Toronto, or on September 30 at 9.30 a.m. Seoul. Previously Genesis already unveiled the GV60’s appearance but said no word about the technical part except the E-GMP platform the new electric SUV shares with the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Initially, Genesis will launch the model in South Korea as part of a pilot project. Rumors say WiTricity will supply chargers of up to 11 kW in the home market for wireless charging of the GV60.

We expect the Genesis GV60 will feature an all-wheel-drive, a dual-motor setup with total system output no less than 577 hp of the EV6 GT, and acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds.

Also, the Genesis GV60 will have a number of smart features, such as a face recognition function for locking/unlocking the doors or a fingerprint reading device to turn on the engine.

Sales of the new model should start this year or in early 2022, depending on the market. In general, Genesis plans to have eight EV offerings by 2030. It is still unclear if the GV60 will be available in North America, but it will almost certainly appear in Europe.
