Genesis CEO announces a “study” for a shooting brake version of the G70.
The shooting brake (wagon-styled) modification will be developed on the basis of a new G70, first of all for the European market to ‘fight’ there against such wagons (estates) as the Audi A4 Avant and the BMW 3 Series Touring.
As for the arrival in the North American market, it is questionable so far.
The manufacturer is going to launch the Genesis G70 facelift next year. This is still a competitive model whose highlights are a manual transmission and a rear-wheel-drive platform oriented on performance.
It is also the last Genesis model representing the brand’s new styling language, along with the G90, GV80, G80, GV70, which are already unveiled or underway.
A four-door compact executive sedan with “G70” nameplate, Genesis Motor’s third model, debuted on September 15, 2017 at a global launch event in Seoul.
Last year, the Genesis G70 was named the 2019 North American Car of the Year.
While German premium brands and Cadillac kill manual-transmission modifications and wagons, Genesis is thinking over to launch a shooting brake. We’ll see what comes of it… looks interesting.
