Four Skoda Models Offer State-of-the-Art 4×4 Technology

Presently Skoda provides all-wheel drive for four model series. Its modern 4×4 technology adds traction and safety on every terrain.

Skoda has used all-wheel drives since 1999.The first AWD vehicle was the Octavia Combi 4×4.

Today’s fifth-generation 4×4 drive system is all-automatic and highly efficient. Its multi-plate clutch is controlled by electronics. The variable power distribution between axles increases driving safety and performance in every weather and on any surface.

The Octavia, Superb and two SUVs – the Karoq and Kodiaq are Skoda’s models with four-wheel drive.

The most popular AWD vehicle of the brand is the Skoda Kodiaq. Almost 60 percent of customers prefer a 4×4 version of this crossover.

The company delivered more than 1 million 4×4 cars between 1999-2019. Last year, 157,000 4×4 vehicles were made.

German trade magazine “Auto Bild Allrad” awarded the Skoda Superb for the 10th time as the “Best all-wheel-drive car of 2019” in the category up to 40,000 euros.

The Octavia Scout got its 5th award in the “All-wheel drive crossover” class, while the Kodiaq won the first place in the import cars category “Off-road vehicles and SUVs up to 35,000 euros”.
