Ford Turns the Mustang Mach-E’s Front Trunk Into a Cooler

Ford has released some photos of its all-electric Mustang Mach-E. The peculiarity of them is a front trunk that you can fill with whatever you want.

The front trunk or ‘frunk’ is built to be a cooler sitting underneath the hood. It’s equipped with a plastic liner and a drainage hole at the bottom with a drain cap to hose down the frunk.

The storage place is 4.8 cubic feet (equivalent to 36 gallons) – large enough to hold a carry-on-size suitcase or one thousand chicken wings of regular size.

It can be filled with ice and beverages or …shrimps like in the picture, or the food for a picnic.

Deliveries of the Ford Mustang Mach-E begin in late 2020. Customer can already make reservations. In the USA, they can choose from such versions as Select, Premium, California RT.1 Edition.

The Select costs from $43,895 and will be available early 2021. The Premium is priced at $50,600, available late 2020. The California RT.1 Edition starts at $52,400, deliveries begin in early 2021. The federal tax of $7,500 is not included.
