Yakima’s hitch-mounted bike rack is being tested on the Ford Bronco four-door prototype. Spies recently captured it.
More than 200 accessories will be available for the revived Ford Bronco. Some of them are already live in the model’s build and price configurator, including the bike rack, in two- or four-bicycle configuration. The configurator shows a retail price of $569.
The rack can carry classic bikes and newer ones with fat tires and boost hubs, Ford Authority reports.
The rack utilizes a tray-style carrier and StrongArm hooks to secure the bikes at the wheels and load / unload them easily. This accessory requires the use of a 12-inch hitch extension (costs $79 extra).
Ford is gradually adding accessories to its Bronco configurator. The already-available ones include rock rails, off-road recovery kits, roof-mounted tents and carrier, an awning, snowboard racks, cargo baskets and boxes, kayak and paddleboard carriers, hitch-mounted ski.
Many (but not all) from the 200+ list will be available by the launch of the 2021 Ford Bronco this summer.
