Ford has released its third recall to fix the door latch issue on vehicles built in 2011-2016. There is a risk a door can open during driving.
The recall covers nearly 2.2 million Ford and Lincoln vehicles in the United States. The models involved are the Mustang, C-Max, Escape, Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, Transit Connect, and the Lincoln MKC, MKZ.
Ford owners can inspect the latches themselves or bring their cars to dealers for inspection and replacement free of charge. Moreover, the latch date codes can be submitted online for checking if the latches need to be substituted.
Ford customer service accepts calls at 866–436–7332, and the NHTSA recalls website provides information about vehicles involvement in this recall.
Besides, Ford is currenty recalling F-150 pickups with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine in the U.S. in quantity of 292,311 units from the 2014 through 2017 model years. The recall also includes about 50,000 additional F-150s in Canada and Mexico.
The issue is a possible leakage in the brake master cylinder, that could reduce brake function in the front wheels.
