The Ford Ranger Raptor RS with road-biased tires is under consideration by Ford Performance and may appear on the roads in the future.
A road tire package for the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor could be of interest to customers In Europe, where the Ranger is in strong demand. Ford Performance executives are seriously considering such a possibility, according to Muscle Cars & Trucks.
We get used to the fact the Ranger Raptor is a desert racer. The new 2023 model will come equipped with a powerful 3.0-liter Ecoboost six-cylinder engine mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission, a full-time all-wheel-drive system, and, attention, BF Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires – all making the pickup even more off-road capable.
Tires designed for rugged terrain and passable on dry pavement become dangerous on slippery, wet roads. So, Ford bosses are thinking about giving the Ranger Raptor more street-oriented tires of the same size and profile as the BF Goodrich one, to safely use them for on-road and autobahn driving.
The Ford Ranger Raptor RS with the road tire package could be a new variant of the popular truck, though the idea requires considerable engineering investments.
