Ford Opens Order Banks For Edge, F-150, Other 2023 Models This Summer

A number of Ford’s 2023 models will be available to order in America this summer. The Blue Oval opens order banks for the Edge, F-150, Explorer, Bronco, Mustang Mach-E, and Maverick, with their production set for the fall.

Ford opens the summer order season for several models from its U.S lineup, including bestsellers. In July and August 2022, customers will be able to place their orders for refreshed vehicles for the next, 2023 model year, according to Ford Authority reports.

Edge and Escape

Those North Americans who intend to purchase the latest iterations of the Escape and Edge will have to hurry, as by indirect signs the company will abandon them, and the 2023 model year will be their last.

At the recent Bernstein Strategic Decisions Conference, Jim Farley said that they were “not going to have commodity products like Edges and Escapes. Mustangs and Broncos…good stuff.”

According to the current schedule, order banks for the 2023 Ford Edge should open on July 18, and the production at the Oakville Assembly plant is set to start on October 11, 2022. The 2023 model will likely have minor updates.

Ford already introduced some changes to the crossover for the 2022MY: it dropped the front-wheel-drive configuration, illuminated glove box, and standard rear parking sensors, plus added two new packages.

The refreshed 2023 Ford Escape with changes across trim levels should be available to order this year too. Now we don’t know when exactly.

F-150

Order books for the 2023 Ford F-150 will open on July 18, 2022. Its production is set to begin on October 10 at the Ford Dearborn Truck Plant and on October 31 at the Kansas City Assembly Plant.

The next F-150 gains a new entry-level Rattler version slotted below the Tremor and Raptor. A flagship F-150 Raptor R joins the 2023 F-150 lineup as well. Moreover, a new Android-based infotainment system will be a new tech upgrade over previous models.

Explorer

On August 11, order banks for the 2023 Ford Explorer are expected to open, with its production to begin on November 7, 2022, at the Chicago Assembly plant.

The vehicle will receive a number of updates, and if they are similar to those made on the China-spec Explorer, expect to see a revised grille, new designs of headlamps, fog lights, and taillights, plus a new rear bumper.

Significant changes may happen in the cabin, in particular, a new large landscape-oriented infotainment display.

The Explorer’s platform-mate – the 2023 Lincoln Aviator – will get minor changes as well (new colors, some tweaks inside).

Bronco, Maverick, Mustang Mach-E

The 2023 Ford Bronco will possibly get new options, colors, or packages. The order banks for the SUV will open on August 15, 2022, and its production should commence at the Michigan Assembly plant on November 14.

The Blue Oval plans to open orders for the 2023 Ford Maverick and the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-e on August 15, 2022. The Maverick production start is slated for October 24 at the Hermosillo Assembly plant, while the Mach-e will begin rolling off the assembly line at the Cuautitlan Assembly plant in Mexico on October 31, 2022.

Expect the 2023 Mach-E will have an increased range and upgraded software refreshing the entire interface the car’s screens display.

All the dates are not final and subject to change given continuing supply issues.
