The update of existing battery packs has allowed increasing the real driving range of the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E.
Depending on specification, the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E’s range on a single charge will increase from 1.0 to 7.4 percent, Auto Express reports referring to configurator data on the company’s US website. The largest range increase, +17 miles, will be on the Standard Range RWD version.
The only exception is a high-performance Mustang Mach-E GT: its range remains the same.
The battery capacity increases from 68 to 70 kilowatt per hour in the Standard Range models, and from 88 to 91 kWh in the Extended Range Mach Es.
Engineers could change the vehicle’s charging curve, especially if the model’s charging level is over 80 percent. At this point, many EVs usually stop fast charging to prolong battery life.
