Ford Mustang Changes Generation Next Year: What to Expect

The new-generation Ford Mustang will be introduced in spring 2023 as a 2024 model. A new hybrid version is possible, while an all-electric Mustang is questionable.

The next 2024 Ford Mustang called ‘S650’ will have an 8-year life cycle like the current model.

Car and Driver supposes a debut date could be April 17, 2023. This is the date when Ford unveiled the original Mustang at the 1964 New York World’s Fair.

We don’t expect the new Mustang’s exterior will undergo major changes. It will be a slightly modernized variant of the current model. After all, the Mustang must remain the unmistakably recognizable icon.

As for the interior, it will apparently get significant updates. In particular, well’ see a new digital instrument cluster wrapping into an infotainment touchscreen with added buttons for main functions.

As for the engines, they will likely carry over from the previous Mustang, but one or two of them will incorporate a hybrid system. The engines will combine with a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission.

We recall that the current engine range for the Ford Mustang includes a turbocharged 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine with 330 hp and 350 lb.-ft. of torque, 5.0-liter V8s with 460 or 480 hp and 420 lb.-ft., and a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 producing 760 hp and 625 lb.-ft.

This is the fact the Ford Mustang GT3 race car will make its debut at the 2024 Rolex 24 at Daytona, but it’s still unclear if it will get a street version.

The arrival of an all-electric Mustang is an expected event too, but it is not necessary to happen in the seventh-gen S650 model.
