Ford Mustang Becomes Best-Seller For the 4th Year In a Row

The iconic Ford Mustang celebrates its 55th birthday. It has become the world most popular sports coupe four times in a row.

The Ford Mustang sports car increases sales in major markets around the world. The first Mustang rolled off the asembly line on March 9, 1964. In 2019 the car reached the 55-year milestone.

Last year Ford sold 113,066 Mustangs, what is a record. The Mustang’s share in the sports car segment on the global market increased half a percent and reached 15.4% in 2018 compared to 2017. It became possible, in particular, due to the high popularity of the Bullitt model.

The car has also become the segment leader in the USA. During 2018, Ford sold 75,842 units here.

In the first quarter of 2019, Ford sold 2,300 Mustang vehicles in Europe: +27% to the last-year result.

2007 Ford Shelby GT500: The Ford Shelby GT500 seamlessly combines the modern Mustang muscle car with classic Shelby performance cues, such as the famous Shelby Cobra logo.

According to Ford’s report on global sales in 2018, Mustang was sold in 146 countries. Since 2015, over 500,000 six-generation cars have been sold worldwide, including 45,000 units in European market.
