U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has estimated fuel efficiency of the Ford Maverick Hybrid. The result of 42 miles per gallon makes the vehicle the best hybrid pickup in North America in terms of fuel efficiency.
The new 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid has got the official rating from EPA, and it impresses: 42 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, 37 mpg combined. Such figures allow Ford to assert that now the Maverick is officially America’s most fuel-efficient hybrid pickup.
Last month, the first customers took delivery of a 2.0-liter 250-hp 4-cyl EcoBoost version, which is still available to order. As for the hybrid Maverick, its production should begin in December, and the first vehicles will be reaching their owners starting from January 2022.
Ford expects the 2022 Maverick Hybrid to be fully reserved by early November. Once the order book for the 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid is filled out, the company will close it to open again next summer.
The Ford Maverick Hybrid offers a driving range of more than 500 miles with a full tank according to EPA estimates. Its latest-generation hybrid propulsion system comprises a new 2.5-liter 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle hybrid engine and electronic continuously variable transmission. The total output is 191 horsepower. The hybrid is FWD only version, while AWD comes as an option for the non-hybrid Maverik.
The compact battery pack is placed under the second-row seats instead of taking a significant portion of the cargo area.
