Ford F-150’s Most Extreme Version Comes Out This Month

A hardcore 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R is coming to challenge the Ram 1500 TRX. Its debut date has become known.

The most extreme version of the Ford F-150 all-time bestseller debuts on July 18, 2022, as Ford Trucks teased in a movie-style poster on its Twitter account. Also, the manufacturer let us have a glimpse of this truck – Ford F-150 Raptor R – at the launch event for the Bronco Raptor, when people could hear how incredibly the vehicle’s V8 engine sounded in action.

While the F-150 Raptor off-roader packs 450 hp from its 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine, the mega-horsepower Raptor R will have a V8, as Ford already confirmed.

Given that the Blue Oval aims to beat the 703-hp Ram 1500 TRX, which is currently the most powerful gasoline-fueled pickup truck in the world, expect the F-150 Raptor R to use the supercharged 5.2-liter 8-cylinder Predator engine from the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 in pair with a variant of a 10-speed automatic transmission. That mill makes 760 hp in the GT500.

And we also expect the hotter R modification will have some different kit from the regular Ford F-150 Raptor, including a revised grille, unique wheels, and more robust components to structurally enhance rear suspension.

If the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R debuts in July, it should go on sale by the end of 2022, at least, we think so.
