The Ford F-150 Lightning will be available to place a reservation for in 2 days. The new vehicles will come with some updates customers appreciate and at revised prices.
On Thursday, August 11, 2022, the Blue Oval reopens order banks for the next wave of the Ford F-150 Lightning reservation holders.
The pricing for new-wave customers has been adjusted given material cost increases and other factors. They now start at $46,974 and go to $96,874, before a destination fee, taxes, other fees, and charges.
Also, Ford has made a few upgrades to the model.
Firstly, the company boosted a targeted EPA-estimated driving range of a standard-range battery by 10 miles: from 230 to 240 miles. This update is available on the vehicles starting in the fall.
Secondly, an industry-first Pro Trailer Hitch Assist technology is added as part of the Tow Technology Package or on select trims. The system automatically controls steering, throttle, and brake inputs.
A pair of new colors – Avalanche Gray and Azure Gray metallic tri-coat – joins the model’s color palette as replacements for Atlas Blue, Ice Blue Silver, and Smoked Quartz Metallic. In total, there are ten color choices for the new F-150 Lightning trucks.
Moreover, the Pro models for fleet customers now acquire a new Ford ProTM Special Service Vehicle Package.
The F-150 Lighting is an important vehicle for Ford. Given sales began in May 2022, their results are considered good: 460 units in May, about 1,800 units in June, and 2,173 vehicles in July. We expect that August will be more successful in sales than the last month.
