The Ford F-150 Lightning tops the list of most preferable all-electric pickups to purchase, according to a recent survey.

Not long ago, in late October – early November, Autolist surveyed over 1,100 current car buyers in the USA to define their preference among upcoming electric pickup trucks. As the result, the Ford F-150 Lightning tops the list overtaking the Chevrolet Silverado EV, Tesla Cybertruck, GMC Hummer EV, Rivian R1T.

Respondents were asked to choose among the pickups which are currently available for pre-order, or their debut date is already set. 38 percent of surveyed people selected the Ford F-150 Lightning as their top pick.

The rest choices are the following:

  • Chevrolet Silverado EV – 26%
  • Tesla Cybertruck – 20%
  • GMC Hummer EV – 11%
  • Rivian R1T – 5%

As we can see, before and now Americans like and trust the Ford F-150 model, and they are ready to purchase its new electric version more willingly than EV pickups of other brands.

Besides, the Ford F-150 Lightning leads in key groups, such as first-time truck buyers and previous/current truck owners, first-time EV buyers and previous/current EV owners, buyers aged 36+, and all household income levels.

Unsurprisingly, young shoppers from 18 to 35 years old said they’d choose the Tesla Cybertruck, while the Rivian R1T, though it got a low overall score, was rated high on individual aspects: performance, driving range, styling, practicality, features.

Interestingly, the Rivian R1T was the top-ranked electric truck among EV owners in the analogous survey two years ago. Now, in 2021, it is pushed out by the F-150 Lightning.
