Ford Motor Co has announced it discontinues the Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R cars.
The 2020 model is the last one, production ends this fall. Instead, Ford will offer new editions for the 2021 model year, such as the limited-edition Mach 1 or the GT350 Heritage Edition.
With the exit of the GT350s, the only Shelbified Mustang will be the supercharged 760-hp GT500 with a single dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 came back to the Mustang’s lineup in 2015. The 2020 model costs from $60,335, the hotter GT350R starts at $74,530.
The engine that powers the GT350 is a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter flat-plane-crank V8. It produces 526 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque. The engine was available only with a six-speed manual transmission.
