Ford has been testing a Fusion/Mondeo model in a crossover form to launch it globally in 2021 or 2022.
There are some photos of a prototype leaked online. Thanks to them, we can have an idea of the forthcoming vehicle.
The Ford Fusion (named so in the USA) or Mondeo (known as such in other markets) is available in sedan, wagon and hatchback body styles.
The company discontinued the Fusion sedan in the Unites States in July 2020, having put an end to the era of Ford sedans in that country.
Now we know the model will come back as the Fusion crossover. Ford will build it in China, the U.S. and Europe.
The latest shots show a vehicle that looks like a mix of wagon and crossover and resembles the current Ford Edge, especially its front end.
The cabin deserves special attention. There is a huge screen extending the entire width of the dashboard. This Ford’s display seems similar to what Mercedes-Benz offers with its new MBUX Hyperscreen by the shape and concept.
The timeline for the next Ford Fusion/Mondeo arrival is still unclear. Ford will most likely unveil it as a 2023 model.
