Ford will almost certainly use the Raptor name for its high-performance off-road Bronco.
This new version will expand Ford’s Raptor portfolio joining the F-150 and Ranger. Therefore, Warthog as a potential name for the hot Ford Bronco was a misdirection.
The Ford Bronco Raptor will be likely powered by Blue Oval’s familiar 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6, according to a Ford Authority report. That engine delivers 400 hp and 415 lb.-ft. when powers the Lincoln Aviator and Ford Explorer ST.
The Bronco Raptor’s hybrid modification will follow. It’ll bring the same engine and an electric motor producing 494 hp and 630 lb.-ft. combined. Expect a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Like other Raptor models, and judging by the latest spy photos available, the Bronco Raptor features Fox Live Valve shock tech, Raptor-specific 17-inch wheels and all-terrain tires, a wider stance, higher ground clearance, larger fender flares, unique fascias and bumpers, “FORD” lettering on the grille.
