New products launched by the Blue Oval over the past year, namely, the Ford Bronco, Maverick, and the Mustang Mach-e, have poached customers from other brands.

Last month’s sales showed that Ford SUVs and pickups continued conquering the market. The newcomers, such as the Ford Bronco, Bronco Sport, Maverick, and the Ford Mustang Mach-e, withdrew the attention of customers from rivals of other brands: their combined conquest is at a rate of 62%. It’s a definite sign of success for these models and Ford itself. Actually, this is not news, but already a trend.

So, what competing vehicles has Ford stolen customers from?

The Ford Maverick outpaced the Ranger in March and, interestingly, the Honda Civic, despite the fact these two belong to different segments. Most buyers of the Ford Bronco were stolen from the Jeep Wrangler.

As for U.S. sales in the 1st quarter of 2022, the Ford Bronco took the 3rd place in its segment with 23,573 units sold, while the 1st was the Wrangler (45,551 vehicles), and the 2nd was the Toyota 4Runner (34,907 sales).

As reported by Ford Authority, more than 70% of the Bronco owners defected from other brands as of the fall of 2021. Both the Maverick and Bronco are among those new vehicles which are sold with the most significant markups.

Moreover, Ford sales in the EV market have increased by 13% over last year, largely thanks to the F-150 PowerBoost and Mustang Mach-E.
