Five Reasons to Buy the Nissan Rogue

In recent years, the Nissan Rogue has been consistently presented in the TOP 10 bests of various rankings, and we know why. We’ve found at least five reasons why you should consider purchasing it.

The Nissan X-Trail has been produced since 2000. Since its third generation, this global model became the same vehicle as the Rogue for the North American market. So, the Rogue first came out in 2007 for the 2008 model year.

This is a compact crossover SUV that sits between the smaller Qashqai (USA’s Rogue Sport) and larger Pathfinder in Nissan’s model range. It must be admitted that the Rogue is the brand’s undoubted success. Why? – Because

1. It is reliable and versatile

i.e. adapts many different functions, has trustworthy overall quality, and performs consistently well. The vehicle comes with a solid suite of standard features, including LED Daytime Running Lights, an Advanced Drive-Assist Display, Bluetooth, or a rearview camera. Besides, the Rogue offers some features that many compact SUVs do not have. For example, wireless Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity or Amazon Alexa Auto.

The 2023 Nissan Rogue’s reliability rating based on the frequency, cost, and severity of actual repairs is 4 out of 5. The average annual repair cost is $467 meaning the crossover has superb ownership costs. Both frequency and severity of repairs are quite average compared to competitors.

2. It has a comfortable, ergonomic, feature-rich interior

The Rogue has some of the most comfortable seats in the segment, exceptional visibility, an easy-to-use infotainment system, an excellent sound system, plenty of legroom for all occupants, and many storage options inside to keep your belongings on hand.

The standard model offers 31.6 cubic feet of space behind its 2nd row, which can be organized in 6 different ways with an available Divide-N-Hide system. The cars with an adjustable cargo floor have 36.5 cubic feet. There is 74.1 cubic feet of space when the back seats are folded down.

3. It features excellent fuel economy

The model has best-in-class gas-engine fuel efficiency and standard torque thanks to an advanced 1.5-liter 3-cylinder Variable Compression (VC) Turbo engine with 201 horsepower. EPA-rated fuel economy is 33/30/37 mpg.

4. The model is one of the safest in the class

In addition to front and rear airbags, ABS brakes, and stability control, the Rogue comes equipped with the Nissan Safety Shield 360. This safety pack includes six advanced Nissan Intelligent Mobility features, namely:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
  • Blind Spot Warning
  • High Beam Assist
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Rear Automatic Braking.

The car’s latest safety ratings are the highest: 5 starts from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Top Safety Pick+ by the IIHS.

5. The Rogue is equally nice for city and highway driving

Those who get behind the wheel of this crossover SUV emphasize its lovely handling, well-balanced driving dynamics, and smooth ride thanks to a properly tuned suspension. Good fuel economy allows a Rogue owner to go on long trips with no doubt. Moreover, the available ProPILOT Assist system makes long drives on the open highway easier.

The vehicle also has a number of features making it a great choice for city driving, such as a backup camera or blind spot monitoring.

NEW for 2023:

For the Rogue SV trim, Nissan offers a Midnight Edition package that adds black exterior accents to the wheels, badging, bumpers, outside mirrors, grille, and roof rails.

A fly in the ointment

is the Nissan Rogue’s starting price, as it is higher than that of most of its competitors.

2023 MSRP: $27,360 – 38,640

In order not to overpraise Nissan’s model, let’s add that there are other competitive offerings in the market. The Mazda CX-5, for example, is sportier and more beautiful, while the Honda CR-V is roomier, and some consider it to be more well-rounded.
