Nissan has recently unveiled its first electric crossover, more precisely, a coupe-crossover that opens a new era. Will it be able to repeat success of the Nissan LEAF?
Nissan told of the Ariya in detail. We can pick out five main facts about the newcomer:
- 2WD / 4WD
The Nissan Ariya will come with both front- and all-wheel drive: two options for the first configuration and three for the second, including a high-end Performance version.
Battery sizes available are 65 kW and 90 kWh.
2. Power and Torque
The max. output is from 218 to 306 horsepower, depending on a battery. The top version’s engine delivers up to 394 hp.
The torque ranges from 220 lb-ft (300 Nm) to 443 lb-ft (to 600 Nm).
The 0-62 mph acceleration of the FWD vehicle takes 7.5 and 7.6 seconds (slower with a larger capacity battery). The AWD Ariya needs 5.9 s (65-kW battery), 5.7 s (90-kW battery) and 5.1 s (top version).
The top speed is 99 mph (160 km/h) for the 2WD variant and 124 mph (200 km/h) for the 4WD version.
4. Driving Range
The longers range is 311 miles (500 km) for the front-wheel drive crossover with the more powerful battery. The standard Ariya can cover up to 224 miles (360 km) on until fully discharged.
The all-wheel drive Ariya’s driving range is between 211-286 miles (340-460 km), depending on the version.
The new Nissan Ariya is smaller than the Audi e-tron. It is 4595 mm (15.07 ft) long, 1850 mm wide (6.07 ft), 1660 mm high (5.44 ft), the wheelbase is 2775 mm (9.1 ft).
The price is still unknown, and that’s one of the most intriguing questions about the model.
