The Fiat 500X returns to the USA and Canada as the only brand product for the 2022 model year. A new Al-Fresco soft-top option will be available.
The Fiat 500X 5-seater urban crossover will go on sale in North America as a 2022 model. This time, the model brings the advantage of a true open-air experience. The new 2022 Fiat 500X offers an optional Al-Fresco soft top – a folding fabric roof that retracts with one push of the button. The roof comes in 4 colors: Red, Black, Blue, and Grey, Moparinsiders.com informs.
Alternatively, there is another choice for all four trim levels (Pop, Trekking, Sport, Trekking Plus). This is about a power-sliding dual-pane sunroof whose side glass panels match the body-side sheet metal.
The Yacht Club Capri special edition with sailing motif and blue accents is available as well. It features “Blu Venezia” exterior color, a blue soft-top, exclusive 18-inch sport wheels, Ivory White leather seats, satin-finished details (gear shifter, mirror caps), Yacht Club Capri badging.
In addition, the Pop Sport Appearance Package returns for 2022. The 2022 model for America offers nine exterior color choices and a sole engine – the 1.3-liter incline turbo-four making 177 hp and 210 lb-ft in tandem with a 9-speed ZF automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel-drive system. The fuel economy is 30 mpg highway.
On the technological part, the new Fiat 500X has an Uconnect 4 infotainment system with a 7-inch screen and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capability, 75 safety and security features including adaptive cruise control, Rear Cross Path detection, ParkSense and LaneSense systems among other things.
The Fiat 500X is undeservedly deprived of buyers’ attention in the USA, though it has its own success story in Europe, especially in Italy. The U.S. sales are poor: only 979 sales within 9 months of 2021.
Will the new features added for the 2022 model year help improve sales? We’ll see.
