The new, fourth-generation Toyota Tacoma is around the corner. Here we’ve assembled official information from the manufacturer and added our expectations about the upcoming model.
The Toyota Tacoma receives a complete redesign. The automaker has already announced the date of its official unveiling: the all-new 2024 model will make its world debut on May 19, 2023.
Facts:
- The 2024 Tacoma, just like previously new generations of the Toyota Tundra or Sequoia, will apply the i-FORCE MAX hybrid technology. This means more power and efficiency.
- Like the Tundra, a new version developed from the ground up – the Tacoma Trailhunter – will be available. According to Toyota, the Trailhunter features purpose-built engineering and robust components (ARB parts).

- The pickup will be available with a JBL FLEX removable and portable speaker.

- The Tacoma TRD Pro version will be equipped with rear-wheel disc brakes and Fox heavy-duty dampers.
- The next Tacoma will use the new body-on-frame TNGA-F architecture shared with the latest Tundra and Sequoia.
Expectations:
- The Tacoma’s exterior and interior will be highly influenced by designs of the latest Toyota Sequoia and Tundra, with similar elements and layouts.
- In-cabin features will include voice commands, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, additional passenger-centric functions, and surround-view cameras for off-road-specific trim levels.
- The 2024 Tacoma will come with an updated driver’s information display with bar gauges for important telltales.
- A pure electric Toyota Tacoma will eventually arrive to fight against the Ford F-150 Lightning.
- The new model enters the market in the fall of 2023.
