Facelifted 2019 Volkswagen Passat Is Being Tested In The Arctic Circle

Volkswagen has been testing the Passat mules in hard winter conditions of the Arctic circle. The car after facelift will debut in the middle of next year.

It’s time for updates of the Volkswagen Passat model. So, the automaker does not waste time and conducts road tests, which are not out of sight of photo spies.

The camouflage conceals exterior changes. We expect revised optics, new grille and bumper designs. The changes inside will be likely similar to those found in the latest Golf and Touareg. It is about the newest infotainment system first of all.

VW may reduce the number of trim levels and engine choices to optimize costs. A new 1.5TSI Evo petrol motor will probably replace the old 1.4-liter unit.

A diesel engine should also remain, as well as an improved plug-in hybrid powertrain with a battery of larger capacity and range.

The same as with the Golf, the company will utilize a 48-volt mild hybrid system on some variants.
