Kia Motors sums up its last-year sales results in Europe. 494,304 units were sold (+4.7%), the Kia Sportage remains a leader purchased by 125,000 men.
European sales of the brand have been growing for the tenth consecutive year. According to ACEA’s statistics, its share in Europe was 3.2% in 2018. Kia sold almost half a million vehicles in this highly competitive market.
125,266 Kia Sportages (pictured above) were bought by the Europeans last year. This is a successful flagship crossover with a good choice of powertrains, modern design and many options.
The Kia Ceed family goes second. The carmaker sold 75,479 Ceeds in total, of both wagon and hatchback body styles designed for Europe.
The Kia Stonic crossover started well (the 3th place). It replaced the Kia Soul. European sales of this crossover for young people amounted to 55,742 cars.
Kia offers a wide choice of vehicles with hybrid or all-electric powertrains. Sales of green cars grew by 36% to 58,000 units. The hybrid Kia Niro is the segment leader.
Kia’s goals for 2019 are also ambitious. The ProCeed Shooting Brake, restyled Niro and some other models will help to achieve them.
