Electric Pickup Trucks Which Arrive In Coming Years
Several automakers plan to launch all-electric pickup trucks in the coming years. With large-capacity batteries and potent engines, convenience and eco friendliness, such vehicles can be a good alternative to conventional pickups. Which are they? What should we expect?
The Bollinger B2 pickup concept is a product engineered by Bollinger Motors Company (American startup). InsideEvs reports the B2 is “a modern take on the Chevlolet Avalanche”.
The electric pickup has two electric motors (614 hp) and a 120-kWh battery pack. The model is able to pass 200 miles (322 km) on a single charge, accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 7.0 seconds and tow 7,500 pounds (3,400 kg). The payload is 5,000 pounds (2,268kg).
The pickup has a laconic look and all-terrain features. It possesses a removable glass roof and a retractable luggage compartment for loading long items. It is expected on the market in 2020.
Ford F-150 plug-in hybrid and all-electric
The Ford F-150 gasoline-electric pickup truck is undergoing road test and should go on sale in 2020. Recently an all-electric F-150 has been announced with no details revealed, except for its driving range of more than 200 miles (320km) and towing capacity of at least 10,000 pounds (4,536kg).
This electric pickup truck is the most impressive: 800-hp output, acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 3.0 seconds, towing capacity up to 11,000 pounds (4,990kg), a range of 400 miles (644km) provided by a 180-kWh battery.
The carmaker promises the R1T will arrive in the market at the end of 2020 and cost below $70,000.
The Tesla pickup truck is the most anticipated vehicle with futuristic design, 400-500 miles (644-805km) of range, an autopilot, a full set of parking sensors, large payload and towing capacity. The Tesla Model 3 served as the basis for this project. It is still unclear if it will be a model for mass production – no such plans confirmed for the moment. Tesla will launch the pickup within the next 2 years, if doesn’t change its mind.
Atlis is a fresh brand. Atlis Motor Vehicle claims an all-electric Atlis XT pickup truck will be the most powerful and large vehicle in its segment able to run up to 500 miles (805km) without recharging. Its towing capacity is about 35,000 pounds (15,876kg), payload is up to 5,000 pounds (2,268kg).
