Porsche sets new design standards for the Taycan. Classic design features have been digitalized.
The Porsche Taycan interior combines typical and new-type elements. The automaker will introduce its first-ever all-electric sports car on September, 4, 2019.
The dashboard is designed for a sporty seating position and stretches across the width in the shape of a wing. It is minimalistic and ultra-modern. The controls are quick operated.
The innovative instrument cluster reminiscent of the original Porsche 911 comprises a curved 16.8-inch screen.
Drivers can choose between four display modes for the instrument cluster: Classic, Map, Full Map and Pure.
The steering wheel provides two options: basic and GT Sport. The power button is located on the left behind the steering wheel.
A central 10.9-inch infotainment screen and an optional passenger display are combined to form an integrated glass black panel that visually blends with the interior.
Apps and interfaces
Porsche has fully redesigned all user interfaces for the Taycan. The company significantly reduced the number of traditional hardware controls in favor of intelligent and intuitive ones, like “Hey Porsche” voice command.
The driver can quickly access all apps, such as navigation, telephone, media, comfort and Porsche Connect, via a clearly structured and customizable home screen.
Front passengers have the option of their own touch display for the first time.
The elevated center console intensifies the feeling of a low seating position. It features a large 8.4-inch touch panel with haptic feedback.
Developers reduce each detail to the essentials. For example, air vents are fully modernized and can be operated intuitively. Airflows are now controlled via the Virtual Airflow Control digital function. The Advanced Climate Control system can be operated from the rear seats.
The Porsche Taycan received individualized equipment and a wide range of interior and exterior configurations, from traditional to sustainable and modern.
The available materials are “Race-Tex” (high-quality microfiber), recycled fibre “Econyl”.
Interior colors are Black-Lime Beige, Blackberry, Atacama Beige and Meranti Brown. The optional interior package also gives customers a choice of special contrasting color schemes in black matt, dark silver or neodyme, an elegant champagne tone.
The doors and center consoles can be wooden, matt carbon, embossed aluminum or fabric.
