Demand For BMW X7 Exceeded Expectations

BMW has reported the market success of the X7 full-size SUV. Thanks to the flagship, there is an increase in demand for the German-made SUVs.

Commenting on the sales results in April, Pieter Nota, BMW AG’s Member of the Board, informed of the high demand for the new flagship BMW X7. Buyer interest exceeded expectations and helped increase the total sales of the Bavarian SUVs in April by more than 20%.

Although the BMW X7 was developed with an eye primarily on the USA, the full-size SUV is on sale worldwide. While in the U.S. only gasoline versions are available to customers, in the European and some other markets the model is offered diesel-powered as well.

Pieter Nota also underlined a positive customer response to the new BMW 3 Series. Its seventh generation is already available on the market.

BMW sales in April rose by 2.3%, amounting to a total of 171,154 units. In the first four months of the year, sales reached 690,469 vehicles (+0.8%).

The biggest drivers of growth are the BMW SUVs. Thus, global sales of the BMW X2 grew more than twice as high, the BMW X3 – by 71%, the BMW X4 – by 36%.

In general, BMW Group figures rose by 0.7%. In April, deliveries of BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce cars amounted to 196,179 units.
