The Climatronic Air Care system in many Volkswagen Group’s vehicles, in particular, in Skoda cars, have antibacterial effect and help avoid allergy suffers.
According to a study conducted by the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, more than 150 million people in the European Union suffered from allergies in 2016.
Up to 99% of pollen and many fine dust particles can be kept out of vehicles which are equipped with effective interior filters and intelligent air conditioning systems like Climatronic Air Care.
It is available in many Volkswagens – the Golf, Touran, Tiguan, Passat, Polo, Arteon, as well as in new Skodas – the Octavia, Karoq, Kodiaq, Superb, standard or optional.
The current Climatronic Air Care monitors the air quality in the vehicle using sensors, detects increased pollen, humidity, fine dust concentrations and responds automatically by activating the air recirculation function. During this circulation process, the air passes through a highly effective carbon cabin filter.
Cabin air filters fulfill three functions: catch particles, have antibacterial action, absorb unpleasant odors. To operate well, they should be regularly replaced, better in spring.
Today the carmakers strive to offer customers optimal cabin-filter packages. Skoda, for instance, uses three different cabin air filters in its vehicles: a basic particulate filter, an activated carbon filter to absorb odors from the outside, and the most comprehensive one that comes with antibacterial coating.
