The first all-electric Citroen model arrives in 2020. It will be the Citroen C4 Cactus.
Thus, the carmaker brings to life its plan to electrify each model by 2025. It will build its new C4 Cactus on the Compact Modular Platform (CMP) like new Vauxhall Corsa, Peugeot 208 and then other small cars of the brand. PSA adapted this architecture to full electrification.
The upcoming Cactus will get also petrol motors from start, not just an electric engine. The model will be new-styled and developed on the basis of the CXPERIENCE concept, which Citroen showed in 2016 in Paris.
The company is preparing an all-electric concept for the next-year Geneva Motor Show as part of centenaty celebrations. There will be 1 or 2 show cars to focus on a vision of future mobility and retain the ‘spirit of the 2CV’. Unlike the 2CV, Citroen sees the concept to be a vehicle for city dwellers.
The manufacturer is going to reveal a second centenary concept (already teased) at April’s Shanghai auto show. It will unveil a different and larger take on autonomous driving future.
