The new Citroen DS 3 Crossback is flaunting on a video revealed today ahead of its official premiere at the Paris Motor Show.
The production car on the video looks like the vehicle on patent images seen 2 months ago. The smallest crossover in the Citroen’s lineup has much in common with the DS 7 Crossback.
There are some elements borrowed from the DS 3 too. The 3 Crossback is built on the PSA’s CMP architecture, which will be adjusted to eCMP for electrified modifications.
The show car will be all-electric, but when it goes on sale, pure combustion-engined versions will be offered too. So, a wide range of powertrain options is expected, including 3- and 4-cylinder turbo motors, in particular, the 1.2 Puretech and 1.6 THP petrols. The electric car is rumored to have a 50-kWh lithium-ion battery providing 450-km driving range.
The 2019 Citroen DS 3 Crossback’s front part features a massive chrome-coated radiator grille surrounded by thin LED daytime running lights. You can see the “shark fins” on the central pillars, received from the DS 3.
At the rear there is a short spoiler, a rather small rear window and a set of stylish lamps connected in one piece by a chrome strip.
The cabin is DS 7 Crossback-styled and includes a three-spoke steering wheel, a digital instrument panel and a widescreen infotainment system. The dashboard, door elements and seats are trimmed with light leather “diamond” stitching.
The model’s extimated starting price is $26,000.
