Chevrolet has been testing prototypes of the next Silverado HD in real-life conditions. The refreshed truck will arrive as a 2024 model.
Due to the issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chevrolet has to push back Silverado HD’s update cycle one model year later: 2024 instead of initially slated 2023. The same concerns the Silverado’s close relative – the GMC Sierra HD.
Well, which refreshes will happen?
Expect to see a new grille with a simpler design, revised front and rear fascias, new LED lighting signatures, a more up-to-date interior with better materials and though-out space.
As for the powertrain changes, Chevrolet will likely apply them to the pickup truck’s engines – a gasoline 6.6-liter V8 L8T and a 6.6-liter L5P V8 Duramax Turbo Diesel.
The Chevrolet Silverado is North America’s best-seller for years. Since the light-duty Silverado is most in demand (117,275 units in Q2; 207,980 units YTD), the heavy-duty Silverado also sells well, and its sales have been growing: 44,431 units in the 2nd quarter of 2021 (+42%), 78,430 units year-to-date (+26%).
